Visa
For travel to Iran most foreign citizens need a visa. For many countries this visa cannot be directly requested at the Iranian embassy. You need to have an invitation (LOI) with a reference number. You can easily arrange this LOI through Iran Silk Road. On behalf of you we apply for your LOI reference number in Tehran. Administrative cost are 35 euro per visa invitation. For group visas we calculate a discounted fare depending upon the number of participants.
In most cases your visa request will be approved within three weeks. You receive a confirmation by e-mail with the reference number. With this number you can request your visa at your local embassy. For visa procedure please ask your local Iranian embassy or visit their website. It is also possible to collect your visa at an Iranian embassy in another country.
Tourist visas have a validity of maximum one month after your bordercrossing. In Iran you can extend your visa at the tourist police office up to three months. To apply for your visa invitation via Iran Silk Road please fill in our visa Invitation form LOI and send it by e-mail to info@iransilkroad.com with a scan or digital photo of your passport (personal details page) in jpg format (max 250 kb).
ATTENTION
If you are not planning to stay longer than 14 days in Iran it is also possible, for most European countries, to get an airport visa upon arrival at Tehran international airport or other international airports. This will be issued without an LOI invitation. Extending this airport visa upon arrival is not possible.
N.B.: the policy regarding Airport Visa can change for specific nationalities or groups of travelers without prior notice; with this procedure a visa is not 100% guaranteed.
